Dr Anup Biswas wins 2017 INSA Young Scientist Medal  Apr 28, 2017

Dr Anup Biswas, Assistant Professor in Mathematics at IISER Pune, has won the ‘Young Scientist Medal’ of the Indian National Academy of Sciences (INSA), New Delhi.
 

The INSA is a body of Indian scientists created in 1935 for promotion of scientific knowledge in the country. The Young Scientist Medal is a prestigious and competitive award given by the INSA to Indian scientists below the age of 35 years in recognition of promise, creativity and excellence in science and mathematics.

Dr Biswas, who has been selected for 2017 medal, is a mathematician working on controlled diffusion, queuing theory and large deviation theory. The citation of his medal states "On his study of the Dirichlet problem for stable-like operators and related probabilistic representations of solutions of stochastic differential equations with jumps. He has obtained very interesting results on the large deviation properties of the invariant densities of small noise diffusions."
