CSIR Nehru Science Post Doctoral Research Fellowship!!!

Guys, there is a decent scheme CSIR has come up with, only for the fresh PhDs though. Looks like Govt of India is trying to stop the “Brain-Drain”. Its a decent post-doctoral fellowship of Rs 35,000 pm plus HRA and an annual contingency of Rs 300,000, wow!!! At least “big people” in India are now realizing that its also “money” why people are not pursuing basic sciences in India. I am pretty sure that this would attract young scientists to remain in the country and “uplift” the level of Science. I do have a copy of the circular from CSIR with me which can be downloaded by clicking here. Also, I do not have any other information regarding, last dates, how to apply, application format etc., for all these inquiries, please contact CSIR directly.

Really a great initiative to boost research in basic sicences. The fellowship and the contingency are attractive to lure the young scientists and stop them in India and try their career in the home country. I appreciate the GB of the CSIR for such a good proposal and hope that contribution of India to science will once again reach its peak.

This is a very good job did by our Govt.

And to uplift the science in India one should think of manufacturing the Instruments that are needed to involve in better research in our country only. If we are looking at other developed countries for everything we need, the position will be very critical.

In India we cannot even get good quality of chemicals. This makes the research in India to crawl. The student who graduates from India will not always look at the money he will get, there are some other things also, like lack of research infrastructure, lack of funding from the Govt, etc., The major problem is the mentality of Indian researchers is not so good.

The sad thing is we are not having good number of advanced instruments to carry out research.

One should really take this matter seriously.

It is very necessary to encourage the scientific researches by funding to their work which is very urge to expenses. With out fellowships, doing research is very hard to survive and work to publish the good research article in international standard journal which has high impact factor.
