H4R3me1
H4 R3 methylation plays a major role in transcriptional activation by nuclear hormone receptors. Methylation of arginine 3 by PRMT1 facilitates subsequent acetylation of H4 tails by p300 (PMID: 11387442). H4R3 methylation stimulates subsequent acetylation of H3 and H4 resulting in gene activation (PMID: 16103216).
