H3R2me2
H3R2 methyl marks are selectively and locally depleted from active promoters. PRMT6-mediated methylation of R2 in histone H3 antagonises H3 K4 trimethylation (PMID: 18079182). Likewise, H3R2 methylation by PRMT6 was prevented by the presence of H3K4me3 on the H3 tail (PMID: 17898714).
