- Candidates who are appearing or about to appear for final examinations of the qualifying degree program are eligible to apply for Integrated PhD program. However, if selected, their admission would be conditional upon their completing the qualifying degree with the defined marks criteria, before 1st August 2021.
- Selection will be based on interviews of the short-listed candidates.
- Relaxation of eligibility criteria for SC/ST and PD applicants will be as per Government of India norms. Candidates belonging to reserved category will have to submit relevant certificates, if selected.
- For all the national eligibility examinations which provide a common rank / score, the cut-off rank / score for shortlisting for the Interviews for the reserved categories shall be lowered to 1.2 times the General category rank / score.
- Applying does not automatically guarantee that a candidate will be shortlisted for interview. Depending on the number of applications received, respective departments may use additional criteria (like academic performance and/or ranking in respective national level tests like JGEEBILS / JAM / NBHM / JEST) to shortlist candidates for interviews.
- There may be more than one round of interviews. Shortlisted candidates from round one will be called for a second round of interview. Candidates should come prepared to stay for at least two days when they come for the interview. (In view of the ongoing pandemic, the interviews may be conducted online. Details will be communicated to shortlisted candidates).

The Zoom links and all other information regarding the online interviews have already been mailed to both email ids of the candidates. In case the candidates do not find it in their inbox, they are first requested to check their spam folder. If the email is still not found, the candidates are requested to contact biologyapplications@acads.iiserpune.ac.in as soon as possible, clearly mentioning their name, application number and committee ID.
1. Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; not only in majoring subject) or equivalent C.G.P.A on a 10-point scale (55% or equivalent C.G.P.A in aggregate for SC/ST and PD candidates) in B.Sc. (General / B.Sc. majoring in Chemistry, Physics & Biology) and qualifying additional criteria as given below can apply for Integrated PhD Programme in Chemistry starting August 2021.
Candidates who are in the final year of qualifying degree, who have appeared/about to appear for the final exams can also apply for Integrated PhD programme. If selected for admission to the programme, the candidate will be given provisional admission subjected to completing the qualifying degree, as per the criteria specified above, before August 1, 2021.
2. Candidates with JAM (Chemistry 2021) rank 800 or less (960 or less for reserved category candidates) can apply for the Integrated PhD programme in Chemistry.
Interview
Final selection to the programme will be based on performance of the shortlisted candidates in a personal interview to be held at IISER Pune (in case of any unexpected circumstances not permitting an in-person interview, on-line interviews will be conducted) in June 2021. Based on application form and the above listed criteria, applicants will be shortlisted for an interview. Candidates shortlisted for the interview will receive a separate email to appear for the interview at the IISER Pune campus. If the number of eligible applicants is more than what can be interviewed, additional cut off criteria may be used to shortlist from within the list of eligible applicants.
Please note:
Applying to Integrated PhD programme in Chemistry does not automatically guarantee that a candidate will be shortlisted for the interview. The department may use additional criteria in order to shortlist candidates for interviews depending on the number of applications received (e.g., JAM ranking).

Eligibility Criteria
1A. Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; not only in majoring subject) or an equivalent C.G.P.A on a 10-point scale (55% or an equivalent C.G.P.A on a 10-point scale in aggregate for SC/ST and PD candidates) in B.Sc. [any specialization] or B.Tech., and qualifying additional criteria as given below can apply for Integrated PhD program in Mathematics.
AND
2. Candidates in the final year of their Bachelors degree are also eligible to apply. However, their final selection is subject to their successful completion of the Bachelors degree with the above-mentioned requirements at the time of admission. (Tentatively scheduled to be commencing in August 2021)

AND
The candidate MUST have any one of the following:
(a) The candidate should have a rank upto 500 (including 500) (600 for reserved category candidates) in JAM (Physics). The score/rank should be valid at the time of the interview in June.
(b) INSPIRE-PhD fellowship (should preferably possess provisional selection letter for PhD fellowship at the time of personal interview)
Additional criteria well beyond the minimum eligibility criteria will be used for shortlisting the candidates to be called for the interview.
