Research at IISER focusses on the following major subjects of science: Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Climate Science, Mathematics and Physics. Interdisciplinary areas that are at the interface of one or more of these topics are also being actively pursued. In additions, with an aim to diminish the divide between natural sciences and humanities, IISER Pune has also initiated a Humanities and Social Sciences department.
