Social Outreach
At IISER Pune we recognize our duty towards the local community and the environment.
Staff and students of IISER Pune are actively involved in a variety of social outreach activities.

1. Disha
A voluntary organization started and run by a group of students from IISER Pune. Disha works with the local community to help under-privileged children with their studies and to broaden their horizons by exposing them to various aspects of science. Regular activities include Abhyasikas (Study Centres); Science Nurture Program; Talk for Twenty; Mind Spark; Vigyan Mela; Spread the Smile and more.
2. Prutha
A group motivated people in IISER Pune who care deeply about the environment. They are involved in making the campus more eco-friendly and increasing awareness about green issues. They carry out awareness campaigns and promote reduction, proper segregation of waste, and several other activities.
