International Relations
Welcome to the International Relations Office (IRO) webpage.
The International Relations Office (IRO) at IISER Pune was established in 2014 to facilitate internationalization efforts across campus with specific emphasis on the academic collaborations and bilateral exchanges between IISER Pune and foreign institutions/universities. The IRO works pro-actively to develop and maintain international partnerships. It aims to build IISER Pune as a global educational brand, a leader in research and education.
Mission
The IRO's mission is to strengthen existing and create new international and interdisciplinary collaborations to enhance the global visibility of IISER Pune and meet the aspirations of our stakeholders.
Objectives
• Provide strategic advice and support to the leadership
• Strengthen the international brand value of the institute
• Create opportunities for international and interdisciplinary collaborations
• Foster scientific talent through collaborative programmes and training
Activities
• Development and implemention of the Institute’s vision and strategy in maintaining international relations.
• Fostering and coordination of institutional alliances and partnerships.
• Promotion of relationships with overseas universities and institutions, and helping define the scope of such relationships through appropriate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs).
• Oversight of diplomatic relations strategy with key government agencies and embassies in India and abroad.
• Development, promotion, and coordination of protocol for the management of visiting international delegations.
• Organization and administration of students and staff exchange, giving advice on scholarships and other forms of support
• Facilitation of foreign students, faculty visiting IISER Pune from various countries across the globe.
• Arranging for the stay of the students, faculty members visiting IISER Pune as a part of the exchange program.
• Helping international students with completing their immigration formalities guiding them through the necessary paperwork.
