Kunz's theorem, which characterizes regularity of positive characteristic noetherian rings in terms of flatness of the Frobenius map, is a celebrated classical result in commutative algebra. We will give a new proof of the result, due to Bhargav Bhatt and Peter Scholze, using the surprising homological properties of perfect rings.
