Abstract: Phonon (or mechanical vibration) integrated circuits have been emerging as a growing field of research for applications in sensing and emerging quantum technologies. One of the obstacles to realize these circuits is the ability to route phonons without backscattering along complicated paths in the integrated circuit. The solution to this problem is the topological robust transport of mechanical vibrations along a phonon waveguide. In this talk, I will describe two theoretical proposals of how to realize such on-chip topological phonon waveguides. Towards the end of my talk, I will describe a possibility to test its operation in an experimental setting via multi-scale optomechanical crystal.
