Science Communication Workshop
Tue, Jan 26, 2016,
02:30 PM to 06:00 PM
at LHC 101
Dr. Charlotte Sleigh
School of History, University of Kent
Outline of the Workshop: In this session we will address some of the general motives for science communication, and the media through which it can occur. We will focus on a recent controversy in which a scientific study about cell division was presented in the media as a story of how cancer is a matter of ‘bad luck’. The session does not assume specialist knowledge of cell science or oncology, and will be suitable for any undergraduate or postgraduate student in science with an interest in writing and communication.
