Story of Height Pairings

In algebraic geometry the concept of height pairing of algebraic cycles lies at
the con uence of arithmetic, Hodge theory and topology. After explaining
the notion of Beilinson's height pairing in light of Gillet and Soule's arith-
metic intersection theory, we should be able to introduce a couple of new
directions to this idea, the rst of which is based on my PhD work and the
second one is my current project
