Gromov's work in Riemannian geometry

I will discuss some of M. Gromov's most influential contributions to Riemannian geometry. I will focus on some of the following topics: (1) "Coarse" geometry and hyperbolic groups (2) Cheeger-Gromov's theory of "collapsing" Riemannian manifolds and (3) Gromov-Lawson's theory of "enlargeable" manifolds and positive scalar curvature.
