Selmer companion modular forms

To an elliptic curve one can associate a `Selmer group’ which contains a lot of arithmetic information about the elliptic curve. Mazur and Rubin asked the following question: If the Selmer group associated to two elliptic curves are same, then what can we say about the elliptic curves. They called such pair of elliptic curves Selmer companions. In a joint project with Somnath Jha and Sudhanshu Shekhar, we study the analogous question for modular forms.
