Haldane-Shastry like spin chains with non-periodic boundary condition and related vertex models

We discuss how an su(m)-invariant Haldane-Shastry like spin chain withnon-periodic boundary condition can be embedded into a large class ofintegrable and exactly solvable quantum spin chains whose lattice sitesdepend on two free parameters associated with the Jacobi polynomial.The ground state wave functions of such spin chains are obtained from thechiral correlator of the c=m-1 free boson boundary conformal field theory.The partition functions of these spin chains are evaluated in a closedform by using the freezing trick. Furthermore, a complete description ofthe spectra is given in terms of Haldane's motifs and related classicalvertex models.
