Typically, real life scenarios involve non-uniform density of arrivals/points, which is best captured by a Poisson point process with spatially varying density. However, its analysis is not much available in literature because it loses the mathematical convenience of homogeneity. In this talk, I will discuss mathematical results obtained for two such cases --- (i) coverage analysis by a non-uniform random sensor field and (ii) optimal ambulance placement for serving non-uniform random emergency requests.
