8th National Teachers' Science Congress (NTSC)
The National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science & Technology, Government of India started the National Teachers' Science Congress (NTSC) in the year 2003, as a biennial activity. NTSC aims at providing a platform to the science and mathematics teachers to communicate their ideas, share newer experiments in teaching methodology and science education. The objective is to provide teachers an opportunity to present innovative approaches in science teaching and get other similar ideas that can be put into practice from their peers.
The focal theme of the 8th NTSC is Learning Science by Doing. Findings reveal that learners retain much more and comprehend easily through practice of learning science by doing. This theme will give thus give rise to a wave of newer practices in communicating science and technology through learning through hands-on experimentation.
