About the Meeting: To quote Theodosius Dobzhansky, "Nothing makes sense in biology except in light of evolution". This symposium, titled Conference on Evolutionary and Integrative Biology (CEIB) 2017, has as its basis, this simple notion that evolution is an overarching concept in biology. With many speakers from diverse walks of biological research with the common thread of evolution across their work, we hope to bring out the importance of the application of evolutionary thought as an encompassing perspective that opens new avenues and provides new approaches to the study of biological systems.
