IISER Pune has arranged for its students and staff, an in-house training programme on:

Basics of Fire Safety,  First Aid & Life Saving Skills and Laboratory Safety

Dates: August 7-8, 2015

Time: 9.45 am to 1.15 pm

Venue: C. V. Raman Auditorium, LHC

This is a compulsory exercise for the fresh batch of students and has been considered as a pre-requisite training for practicals and laboratory work. Lab safety will be introduced through a presentation, case studies and videos, with an overview of lab safety rules, MSDS, labelling, disposal, segregation, sensitive reactions, bio- and laser-hazard, and emergency preparedness. Students will need to qualify a safety exam and give a "Safety Undertaking".
