Mimamsa 2018 Prelims
Mimamsa is a national-level annual science quiz for undergraduates, organized by students of IISER Pune.
It is a two-stage event: the Prelims - a written exam with sections from the four major disciplines of science - takes place parallely at several centres across India. The top four teams selected through the Prelims qualify for the Mains, comprised of brain-racking quizzing sessions spread over a weekend.
Mimamsa questions are designed to investigate rather than to simply have an answer, and to encourage debate and discussion among teams and the judges. The quiz aims to test concepts rather than simply facts, leading participants and witnesses alike to go back to the basics and unravel the science behind the science we study.
