About: The lecture will focus on the latest results of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Geneva which is the particle physics collider with the highest energy world-wide. The presentation will introduce the elementary particle physics that is pursued at the LHC and the latest results of the LHC. The lecture will also focus on ways of fostering interest in STEM education and science in schools and the general public. The project PiA – Physics in Advent shall be introduced, which is an internet based tool that encourages children and high school students to Perform simple experiments with household material.
