Elementary - A quiz competition on the periodic table of elements

About: UNESCO has designated 2019 as the International Year of the Periodic Table (IYPT) to mark the 150th anniversary of the periodic table of chemical elements, that was proposed by Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869. The Periodic Table of Elements captures the essence, not only of chemistry, but also of physics, medicine, earth sciences, and biology. It is an iconic image and a vital tool to all who learn and work in science and information design, at all stages of their learning and careers.
IISER Pune in collaboration with the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and Tata Technologies is pleased to announce 'Elementary – A quiz competition on the periodic table of elements' towards the celebration of the International Year of Periodic Table. 21st December 2019 will be celebrated as the Periodic Table Day, where students will spend an entire day exploring the periodic table at IISER Pune. This event will include science talks and movie screening, and quiz competition for school students on the periodic table. The day will conclude with the felicitation of winners of the quiz competition.
11:00 am to 1:00 pm – Science talks and science movie screenings
1:00 to 2:00 pm – Lunch break
2:00 to 3:30 pm – Main round of quiz
3.30 to 4:00 pm – Refreshments
4:00 to 5:00 pm – Prize distribution ceremony
