COESME at IISER Pune is organising:

Pedagogy Workshops for Maharashtra State High School ScienceTeachers

The workshops will be conducted by the Centre of Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education (COESME), IISER Pune under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, Maharashtra State through the State Institute of Science Education (SISE), Nagpur. The participants will be introduced to Enquiry Based Pedagogical Tools (EBPTs), teaching tools that incorporate scientific research methodology in a classroom setting, to help students arrive at scientific conepts. The teachers will be trained to in use of essential elements of research like imagination, observation, logic, critical thinking, interpretation and analysis, in thier classrooms. The workshop are aimed to train participants in designing and deploying EBPTs and to develop strategies to assess the learning outcome amongst the students. The workshop will be a mix of common (plenary) sessions and group activities where participants will prepare EBPTs and lesson notes in teams.

About 360 people (250 school teachers from various disctricts of Maharashtra and 2 representative from DIET of each disctrict) will be trained over four batches of 4-day workshops each.
