Science Circus
Date: June 17, 2017
Time: 2.30 pm
Venue: Sir CV Raman Auditorium, Lecture Hall Complex, IISER Pune
About the Circus:
Join Australia’s foremost science communicators for 60 minutes that’ll make you think, laugh and question. Presented by the Australian High Commission, Delhi.
Can you really launch marshmallows out of a vacuum cleaner, make rockets from common household items, improve your cricket skills with physics and eggs, or launch teddy bears using liquid nitrogen? Prepare yourself for some seriously mind-bending science, as Dr Graham Walker explodes his way through the chemistry and physics of things. With loads of audience involvement, laughs, exciting experiments, and learning, it’s a celebration of the wonder of science!
Join Dr Stuart Kohlhagen as together you face mind-bending problems and mental challenges that can stop a super computer in its tracks, but discover how thinking with your body can reduce seemingly impossible puzzles to child’s play.
This range of activities is designed to allow students to experience and develop skills in problem solving, logic, and critical thinking using just students’ minds, physical agility, teamwork and quick thinking. Get ready for a full body tournament of the mind!
