Abstract: Developing 21st century skills remains a strong agenda item in school systems globally as educators seek to move from focus on learning content to skills acquisition and Makerspaces provide an opportunity to develop these desired skills. Integration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) provides a rich and meaningful context for students to learn than in isolated subjects. This presentation draws on the results of multiple studies conducted by presenters in India, training in-service and pre-service teachers using STEM activities in Makerspaces to develop 21st Century skills in students. Session will end with providing ideas to teachers, creating opportunities for their students to engage in creative and collaborative projects leading to building an equitable, inclusive, and plural society as outlined in Indian National Education Policy of 2020.
