Webinar 12: Making Things, Learning Science  (See flyer)

Speaker: Shri Arvind Gupta (A Padma Shri Awardee and Founder Arvind Gupta Toys)

Date: December 5, 2020

Time: 4:00 pm

Live on YouTube

Abstract: Before children can understand something, they need experience: seeing, touching, hearing, tasting, smelling, choosing, arranging, putting things together, taking things apart. Children need to experiment with real things available in their milieu. In most Indian schools science is learnt by rote learning and very few children get their hands dirty in making simple models.  For the last 35 years I have been making low-cost science teaching aids to make science fun for children.  Children love these toys and  in-turn learn important scientific concepts. In this webinar, I will share my journey of working with these toys in the field of activity based learning, to make education accessible for everyone.
