Audio visual medium is a powerful tool for communicating scientific ideas and concepts. In the education and research sector, audiovisual aids for dissemination of knowledge are now becoming routine. Many scientific journals have embraced this medium to demonstrate their research to public, in ways other than the print form.
To address this growing need for expertise in generation of video content, the Science Media Centre at IISER Pune is planning a short weekend workshop on video production. This is mainly targeted at students of IISER but staff and faculty are welcome.

Time: 10.00 am ‐ 5.00 pm.
Venue: Science Media Centre, 2nd floor, Guesthouse-cum-convention Centre, IISER Pune
The workshop will give an orientation on how to prepare, plan and execute videos. The participants will be introduced to the tools and techniques of video production in the following stages:
- Pre-production: Script, plan, get ready to shoot
- Production: Handling camera, lights, sound equipment, Presentation and production
- Post-production: Audio video editing and graphics
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to understand how to produce high-quality videos.
Coming soon: A week long workshop will be organized in the 3rd week of June 2016 for those who want to get better understanding and hands on experience. Participants will be able to create their own projects by the end of this second workshop.
