Workshop on Presentation Skills in Academia
Date: 20-21 September 2019
Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Venue: Science Media Centre, Guest house complex, IISER Pune
Abstract: This two-days workshop will provide basic training in presentation skills.
Highlights:
1. Delivering an elevator pitch about research
2. Introducing ourselves and others in a formal setting
3. How to enunciate and articulately read aloud from written text
4. How to effectively use poster and PowerPoint presentations
5. Crucial body language and voice modulation
Eligibility: 3rd to 4th year PhD students
Selection process: Applying does not automatically guarantee that a candidate will be selected for the workshop. In addition to the basic eligibility above, we may use other criteria based on the received applications to shortlist candidates depending on the number and quality of applications received.
Support: Selected participants will be provided double sharing accommodation and food for the entire duration of the course. Travelling allowance is not included. Participants are expected to stay for the full duration of the programme. It is mandatory for all the participants to attend all session.
