Dr. Ramanathan Vaidhyanathan, Associate Professor in Chemistry at IISER Pune, has been selected for the Prof. C. N. R. Rao Award for Research in Inorganic and Physical Chemistry for the year 2021.
The award is given by the C. N. R. Rao Foundation and Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore to Indian scientists below the age of 55 years. It comprises a cash prize and citation, and is given to researchers who have made landmark contributions, especially in application-oriented inorganic or physical chemistry.
Dr. R. Vaidhyanathan, who has been awarded the prize this year, is an inorganic chemist. He works on developing metal organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent-organic frameworks (COFs) and other nanocomposites for energy and environment related applications. He and his group design and make such advanced nanocomposite materials for a range of applications including selective carbon dioxide sequestration, gas separation, charge storage devices, optics and more.
We congratulate Dr. Vaidhyanathan on this recognition and wish him the best!
