Rohit Chikkaraddy, a 5th year BS MS student from IISER Pune, has been awarded Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarship to pursue Ph.D. at Cavendish Laboratory's Nanphotonics Center, University of Cambridge, UK. 

Every year, about 2-4 Indian students are selected for this international fellowship (including all disciplines), and Rohit is one them this time. This scholarship enables academically outstanding Indian students to pursue a fully funded doctoral degree in subjects like Science & Technology, Economics and Social Sciences at St. John's College, University of Cambridge, UK. This award has been instituted in 2008 in honor of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, a graduate and Honorary Fellow of St. John’s College.
