IISER Pune and Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ENS-Lyon) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding today. President of ENS-Lyon, Jean-François Pinton, and Director of IISER Pune, K.N. Ganesh, signed the related documents at the headquarters of the Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advance Research (CEFIPRA) in New Delhi. Others present on the occasion were Patrick Nédellec (Director, International Cooperation, CNRS), G. Raja Sekhar (Registrar, IISER Pune) and Naresh Sharma (Head, International Relations, IISER Pune).

The documents were later exchanged in the presence of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and the President of France François Hollande, who is presently on a 3-day visit to India.
As part of this MoU, the cooperation between the institutes will include joint realization of research and/or teaching programs, exchange of personnel, student mobility, joint conferences & workshops, and developing new pedagogy tools and online courses.
