IISER Pune has won the Clarivate Analytics India Research Excellence - Citation Award 2017 in the category ‘Institutions Established Within 15 Years’. The ceremony of the 6^th edition of these awards took place in New Delhi on November 03, 2017, where IISER Pune was given one of the two overall institution-level awards.

 The awards are given each year by Clarivate Analytics, a provider of essential information, analytical tools and technologies for improving scientific research, discovery and  innovation. The organization, which was formerly the Intellectual Property and Science Business division of Thomson Reuters, focuses on scientific and academic research, patent analytics, pharmaceutical intelligence, and similar such domains.

The Awards are part of Clarivate Analytics’ ongoing efforts to recognize and honor research excellence in the country. These awards recognize researchers and institutions that have made outstanding and pioneering research contribution in designated categories and have had significant influence over the research in that area. Impact and influence of research is determined by analysis of research citations as captured in the preeminent Web of Science scholarly research database and InCites research analytics tool.
