Recognizing the universal appeal of Yoga, in December 2014, the United Nations proclaimed 21 June as the International Day of Yoga. The aim of the celebration is to raise awareness on the many benefits of practicing yoga.
As part of the 2021 Yoga Day, in view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, IISER Pune encourages all to observe the occasion at home along with family members.
Here is a link to the handbook released by the Ministry of Ayush on this occasion. The book lists reference material and resources related to the observance of the International Day of Yoga. While the target audience for the handbook is organisers, the resources related to common yoga protocol might be of interest to yoga practitioners as well. Further, the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), an autonomous institute of the Ministry of Ayush, offers digital training resources and daily virtual training sessions.
