MRSI Medals to two IISER Pune Faculty Members  Oct 01, 2019

Dr. Sujit K. Ghosh and Dr. Angshuman Nag have both been chosen to receive the Materials Research Society of India (MRSI)’s Medals for 2020.
 
The Medals will be presented during the Annual General Meeting of MRSI to be held in Kolkata during February 2020. As recipients of this medal, the awardees will be delivering an invited lecture at the MRSI Annual Meeting.
 
Dr. Sujit Ghosh and Dr. Angshuman NagDr. Sujit K. Ghosh's group works on the development and functional studies of various advanced microporous materials for applications in the chemical industry, energy and environment sectors. Dr. Ghosh has also recently received the India Research Excellence-Citation Award for Young Researcher from Clarivate Analytics, along with with recipients in different categories, in recognition of exemplary research contributions (read more). Dr. Angshuman Nag's group is developing functional inorganic materials using solution processed semiconductor nanocrystal modules. The group's work involves material design, photophysics, and prototype device fabrication. More on this work here
 
The MRSI Medal is awarded in recognition of excellence in a particular field of expertise within the domain of materials and processes. The MRSI is a professional interdisciplinary society of India established in 1989 with the objective of promoting interactions among all those engaged in basic or applied research, pertaining to structural and functional materials. Previous MRSI medal winners from IISER Pune include Dr. R. Vaidhyanathan for the year 2019.
