Prof. A. Raghuram, Professor and Coordinator (Mathematics) at IISER Pune, has been elected as a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore.
The Academy, an association of Indian scientists founded in 1934, is engaged in promotion and dissemination of science through meetings, symposia, publications, etc. Researchers making original and meritorious contributions in their respective fields are elected to the Academy as Fellows.
Prof. Raghuram works on the Langlands Program in mathematics, his special area of interest being representations of p-adic and adelic groups, and their associated L-functions. His current focus is on arithmetic aspects of special values of automorphic L-functions. You can learn more about his work here.
