The University, located in Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal, conferred the honoris causa degree on Prof Ganesh at its nineteenth convocation. The degree was given at the hands of Shri KN Tripathi, Governor of West Bengal at the ceremony that took place on February 9, 2017. This accolade adds to Prof Ganesh’s awards and honours, which include SS Bhatnagar Prize, the TWAS Prize, HK Firodiya Award, and BM Birla Award, among others.
