Dr. Shabana Khan (Associate Professor and Deputy Chair, Chemistry) has received the DST Science and Engineering Research Board (DST-SERB)’s POWER Fellowship.

The Promoting Opportunities for Women in Exploratory Research (POWER) Fellowship has been instituted by SERB as an initiative for empowering women researchers. It recognises outstanding women researchers and innovators in the country, in various areas of specialisation. The award consists of a monthly fellowship amount and a research grant for a period of three years.

Dr. Shabana Khan, who has received this fellowship in 2021, is an inorganic chemist working on organometallic compounds.  Her research group synthesizes and analyses novel compounds using main group elements in low oxidation state to develop metal-free catalysts.
