Protein phosphatase 1D

WIP1 belongs to the PP2C family. It dephosphorylates gamma-H2AX (H2AS139ph; universal DNA damage marker), in vitro as well as in vivo. It is essential for suppressing DNA damage response after completion of DNA repair (PMID: 20118229).
