Serine/threonine-protein phosphatase 2A catalytic subunit alpha isoform

PP2C catalyses the dephosphorylation gamma-H2AX and hence helps in clearing up of phosphorylated H2AX after efficient DNA repair. Its activity is independent of the other DNA damage response machinery. It also colocalises with the gamma-H2AX foci. (PMID: 16310392, PMID: 18614045).
