H2AS137ph
Macro H2A is found to be enriched on inactive X chromosome but its phosphorylation at S137 leads to the exclusion of this variant from the heterochromatic region, suggesting its unique role in chromatin regulation beyond X inactivation. S137 phosphorylation is enriched during mitosis phase. Thus suggesting its role in normal cell cycle progression (PMID: 18227505).
