Death-associated protein kinase 3
DAPK3 is a pro-apoptotic kinase and belongs to the CAMK Ser/Thr protein kinase family. It is responsible for phosphorylation of H3 Threonine 11, specifically located at the centromeric region (PMID: 12560483). Expression levels of DAPK is reported to be downregulated in lung cancer (PMID: 12912953). Promoter methylation mediated silencing of DAPK gene is observed in many gastrointestinal cancers (PMID: 12087472).
