Serine/threonine-protein kinase N1
It belongs to AGC Ser/Thr protein kinase family. PRK1 mediated H3T11 phosphorylation enhances JMJD2C dependent demethylation and activates androgen receptor dependent gene activation. Knockdown of PRK1 negatively affects the androgen receptor-dependent transcription (PMID: 18066052). PRK1 is shown to interact with PKC-beta and co-ordinates in the demethylation process of H3K4 thus regulating transcription (PMID: 20228790).
