Ribosomal protein S6 kinase alpha-4
It belongs to the AGC Ser/Thr protein kinase family. It is a mitogen and stress-activated kinase. It plays an important role to acquire environmental cues and mediate epigenetic changes. MSK2 when activated, leads to the phosphorylation of S28 on H3 which is already methylated K27 causing the loss of PRC2 interaction and hence activation of the target genes (PMID: 20864036).
