Lysine-specific demethylase 7

KDM7A belongs to the JHDM1 family of demethylase and is specific to dimethylated forms of H3K9 and H3K27 (PMID: 20023638). Demethylation of the promoter and further activation of FGF4 gene by KDM7A is shown to regulate neuronal differentiation (PMID: 20084082). It is involved in the removal of repressive marks and activation of transcription (PMID: 20629981).
