Nuclear receptor coactivator 3
ACTR exhibits histone acetyltransferase activity against histone H3 and H4 peptides. It can acetylate free as well as nucleosomal histones and associates with other HATs like CBP/p300/PCAF etc. Hence, it represents a mechanism of chromatin remodelling in hormone signalling (PMID: 9267036). ACTR is a proto-oncogene and is found to be over-expressed in breast cancers (PMID: 20124470).
