Bifunctional protein NCOAT

Nuclear cytoplasmic O-GlcNAcase and acetyltransferase (NCOAT) is a bifunctional enzyme consisting of glycoside hydrolase and histone acetyltransferase activity (PMID: 16356930). NCOAT has been shown to acetylate free as well as reconstituted nucleosomal histones and hence may mediate activation of gene transcription (PMID: 15485860).
