Histone-lysine N-methyltransferase SETDB1

SETDB1 is part of a multimeric complex which comprises of various methyltransferases like Suv39h1, G9a and GLP (PMID: 20129054). It is known to form a complex consisting of HP1alpha-CAF1-SETDB1 which is involved in the methylation of H3K9 in the pericentric heterochromatin in DNA replication (PMID: 19498464) (PMID: 15327775).
