Histone-lysine N-methyltransferase SETDB2

CLLD8 contains the SET domain and methylates histone H3 at Lysine 9 position specifically at the interspersed repetitive elements and centromere-associated repeats which further recruits HP1 at the centromeric position. It is important for proper chromosomal segregation (PMID: 20404330).
